What's new
We're changing things every few days while family and friends test the app. This page says what changed and what you can try. If something here doesn't work the way it says, that's a bug — tell us at support@my2ndbrain.in.
The app shows your day, not the chat
- Today, top to bottom. Open the app and you see what's coming: each reminder as a card with its time, a dashed line where you are now, what already went above it, tomorrow and the week below. No scrolling through Tuesday's chat to find out whether anything is on this afternoon.
- Say it, watch it land. "Remind me to pick up the dry cleaning at 6" and a card slides into 6 pm. That slide is the confirmation; the details show for a few seconds and get out of the way.
- Answers come as a card. Ask "what's the farmhouse wifi?" and the answer sits above the box until you dismiss it. When it needs a time from you, the question is a card with "Tonight 8 pm", "Tomorrow 9 am" and "Type a time" as buttons.
- Notes on a shelf. The last few things you saved sit at the top, with a count that opens everything, grouped and searchable. Asking for one by name still works.
- Yesterday folds up. One line with what happened. Tap it to look. The screen is clean every morning and nothing is deleted.
- Prefer the chat? "Show the conversation" at the top of the menu brings it back, and the choice sticks. WhatsApp is unchanged.
Reminders for a friend, and WhatsApp is back
- Remind someone else. "Remind Charu to send the school form on Friday at 5." If Charu isn't on here yet, you get one message to forward to her. She taps the link, says yes with a single tap, and the reminder goes live for her. Her reminder reads like her own, with one addition: "…the reminder you scheduled via Atul."
- Or just add them first. "Add Charu" hands you the same kind of message with nothing scheduled yet. Once she's said yes, "remind Charu to…" works any time, no link needed.
- Her say, always. Nothing reaches anyone who hasn't tapped yes themselves. The link works once. She can see who's allowed under Allowed to send me reminders in the app menu, or ask "who can remind me?", and remove anyone quietly. And if we got her name wrong from a voice note, "it's Charu, not Jaru" fixes it before you forward.
- Clear this chat removes the messages on your phone only; the server copy and your reminders stay.
- Say "call me Atul" to set the name your friends see on invites.
- Fixed: a correction like "3.30 pm" sent right after a reminder now moves that one reminder, not everything; duplicate reminders collapse to one; and a reminder could fire twice when two runs overlapped. It can't now.
- WhatsApp is back. The number was reinstated on 26 September and held reminders went out the same evening.
An Android app, and reminders that fire from your phone
WhatsApp note: the number was paused for a few days while Meta reviewed our business account; it came back on 26 September, and held reminders went out that evening.
- An early Android app. The same brain in a proper app, with a home-screen widget: tap, speak, done. A small capsule shows it listening, and the reply arrives as a notification. Ask Atul for the build while it's in testing.
- Reminders fire from the phone itself. The app keeps your next few days of reminders and sets exact alarms, so they arrive at the minute, offline included, with Skip and Cancel reminder right on the notification. The widget shows the reminder too until you clear it.
- Share to my 2nd brain. From any app's share sheet: a link, a screenshot, a PDF, or text. It's saved the same way as sending it in the chat.
- Links are kept. Share a post with "save this as night-time exercises" and it's filed under that name. Ask for it later by name.
- Say "DELETE MY DATA" on WhatsApp or in the app to erase everything after one confirmation. And "DISCONNECT" separates a linked WhatsApp number from the app account.
- Quieter mistakes. "Remind for air India" style messages no longer get "I didn't follow"; anything that starts with "remind" becomes a reminder and it asks when.
WhatsApp, screenshots, voice notes, and a tidier way to type
- It's on WhatsApp. Message +91 85270 85580 the way you'd message a friend — text or a voice note — and it works exactly like the app. Try: "hi", then "remind me to call the plumber tomorrow at 10".
- Connect the app and WhatsApp. In the app menu, tap WhatsApp → Connect, send the code, and the two become one account: same reminders, same memory, and every reminder reaches you on both.
- Send a screenshot or a PDF. A voucher, a ticket, a physio sheet, a bill. It's read once, kept as a note, and if there's a date worth acting on you're offered a reminder — say "ok" and it's set. Try: attach a gift card screenshot with the paperclip, then later ask "what vouchers do I have?"
- Voice notes. Tap the mic, speak, tap the arrow. Hindi, English, or a mix all work. You'll see what was heard in your bubble, so a mis-hearing is easy to fix. Try: "kal subah saat baje yoga ka reminder daal do".
- One button, more room to type. The mic becomes the send arrow as soon as you type, and the paperclip lives inside the box. Recording now shows a red bar with a timer, so there's no guessing whether it's on.
- Repeats every quarter, every two weeks, alternate days. Any rhythm from once a day upwards. Try: "remind me every quarter before the GST filing deadline" — it knows the deadline.
- It answers questions. Ask "when is the ITR due date?" and you get the date, and an offer to remind you ahead of it.
- Times on every message, and a divider when the day changes.
- Fewer dead ends. If it can't do something — "every minute" — it says so once and offers the nearest thing. If it needs a time and you don't have one, it asks twice at most, then parks it until you do.
The app is live
- app.my2ndbrain.in. No sign-up. The app gives your phone a recovery code — find it in the menu — and that's your account. Add it to your home screen and reminders arrive as notifications.
- Say it the way you'd say it out loud. "Remind me to pay rent on the 1st every month." "Kal subah 7 baje yoga." "Remind me sunday night to put Avani's visa documents together — affix photo, print IT returns" — the checklist arrives with the nudge.
- Lists and routines. "Make a grocery list: milk, eggs, bread." "When I play badminton my routine is: warm up, footwork drills, 3 games, stretching." Then, at the court: "what should I be doing?"
- It remembers what matters. Things you mention that stay true — who Avani is, that you take a tablet every morning — are kept, shown under "What I know about you" in the menu, and forgotten the moment you say so.
- Change your mind in plain words. "Make it 9 instead." "Cancel the gym one." "Push everything to tomorrow." "I'm in Dubai now."
- Free while we're in early access. The WhatsApp version is built and waiting on Meta.
